Brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec founded their own design firm in 1999, where they work on everything from architectural projects to utilitarian items such as furniture, tableware, and home accessories. The brothers are primarily focused on and dedicated to the organization of interior spaces, and they believe that “a designer should be able to observe and to understand the context,” says Ronan. Their Belleville Chair (2014) is named for the vibrant neighborhood where their firm is located, a bustling Parisian quarter with bistros, bars, and cafés frequented by an international clientele. Redefining the classic bistro chair, it pushes boundaries of traditional production techniques, with a sinuous slender frame that accentuates an almost impossibly thin flowing seat. Suitable for use indoors and out and lightweight for easy carrying and arrangement. Stacks up to six high. Made in Germany.
